RBL

For many years Rob was actively involved in the local branch  of the RBL. When he first joined in 1996 it was the Jalon Valley and Orba Branch. Later changed to Girona Valley and now Benidoleig Branch.

During his tenure as Chairman of the Branch from 2000  it thrived in membership, social activites and fund raising for the Poppy Appeal.

Rob initiated the first Charity Auction for the Poppy Appeal. This was  held by Angela and John Webb and elevated the small branch to be the top fund raisers in District North for the Poppy Appeal.

November 2001 was the first Remembrance Day Service that the Branch held at Fontilles. This has become a traditional annual event and widely supported.  Some short clips from personal  video archives. They can be viewed in full screen and downloaded.

On his retirement , Rob handed over an active Branch which continues to hold events and support the Poppy Appeal.  Details can be viewed  on the webpage link.

Battle of Britain 70th Anniversary

The RBL are launching on September 15th , 2927 tribute balloons as an en masse Memorial. Although Rob did not fly wartime one of the tags will also include his name from a local RBL branch member.
